Option #2 - Iridium 9555 Compact Kit
Perfect if you’re looking to save space or require a lighter, more compact phone but still only require basic voice & text communications. Another popular choice with a slightly more modern handset, it’s a great choice for hikers, adventure riders, etc.
Option #3 - Iridium 9575 Extreme Kit
Ruggedised, commercial grade handset which has GSP location capabilities and has been designed to operate in harsh environments. With extended battery life and tracking capabilities, this is our recommended choice for lone workers or solo adventurers.
Option #4 - Iridium GO! Kit
Ideal if you need to communicate frequently via text message as your smartphone becomes the interface to the satellite phone via a WiFi connection which lets you to move up to 30m from the device. The optional external antenna allows the device to be permanently connected to the Iridium network. A popular option for those wanting to be contactable 24/7 on land or at sea. This option also has GPS location and tracking capabilities.
Option #5 - Inmarsat IsatPhone2 Kit
Number one choice for high quality voice calls. Operating on the Inmarsat geostationary network which is positioned above PNG, providing a stable and reliable connection. This option is perfect if you’re travelling in the central to northern regions of Australia. The only choice if voice calls are priority.
Option #6 - PLB - Personal Location Beacon
Value add option which is available as an addition to any Satphone kit. Operating on an independent satellite network dedicated to global search and rescue, the PLB provides the ultimate cover in life threatening situations where immediate emergency response is required. When deployed, the PLB will notify Australian search & rescue authorities immediately informing them of your exact location and triggering emergency response. The inclusion of a PLB in your Satphone kit ensures you have the ultimate cover in high level situations.
